—— Call for short video submissions for redefining and deconstructing language ——
As part of the RUDE project (rudefestival.com) we invite you to develop a new language that separates itself from traditions, hierarchy & stereotypes in the new digital age. In times of communication in between short message services, international connectivity & a state of permanent visibility, language needs to be redefined. It’s the right time to demerge all national identity, gender rolls, and subliminal discrimination from the way we communicate with each other. Therefor we want to create a dictionary video collection submissions from anyone out there, to overcome the old and redefine it into something new.
Chose a word, sound, sentence or symbol you want to interpret. Speak it, show it, deconstruct it, twist it and recreate it into something that you think it should have been in the first place. Anything can be send in, from experimental animations, filmings, collages to tutorial videos of how to pronounce it/not pronounce it at all. It can be fun, or it can be deep end serious. Anything is welcome. Submited videos can include sound or just visuals and fit the following requirements: Format: 1080p25 or 1080i50 Frame Size: 1920x1080 Codec: H. 264 Duration: 15 to 60 seconds
All video will be exhibited in Berlin in October alongside a larger digital exhibition on our website & also at the forthcoming RUDE Festival.
