  • 90s R’n’B, thumping kicks, gritty snares and a roaring club. Those are the key elements that Ticklish released with his long anticipated „Romantic Footwork“ EP on german high-profile label Live From Earth including a feature by Austrian man of the hour Yung Hurn. The EP is the latest in a string of releases celebrating covered and uncovered Hip Hop and R’n’B gems that gained worldwide support including the Soulection crew. Solidifying his sounds of eternal love filtered through Ticklish’s lush 808 beats and playful footwork rhythms, it brings back the relevance of the tracks... if they ever lost it. He creates atmospheric love songs with the right touch of energy, that work equally well in the bedroom as in the club. His sets can be described as bass-heavy yet soulful, eclectic but always focused on the dance floor. Ticklish also managed to establish his signature sound in original productions: Introduced on his Miscom EP (2013), he took it to the next level on his One Day EP in 2014 and his collaborative EP with B-Ju in 2015. 2016 he teamed up with Italian label Beat Machine Records for a 7“ vinyl release (incl. a Addison Groove Remix) and became a fixed member of the Live From Earth crew, with more releases awaited on that label.

  • Sometimes you hear a sound and may be not quite sure what it is. If you are fascinated by the mystery of noise, tape music is an artichoke, a rough diamond, a welcome phantom with many faces. Window Magic melts found sounds, manipulated source material and field recordings into tape deck ghosts and drones that haunt, flutter and sing. From a very early age growing up in East-Berlin, Andreas Bonkowski was fascinated by tape recorders and shortwave radio stations, filling C60s of his late night findings and experimenting with cutting techniques to make his own versions of songs and broadcasts. With 2012’s album “Ghost Photography” Window Magic opens a portal, channeling sounds that move outside the workings of time. After a busy year of reworking material by other artists, including a contribution to Benoît Pioulard’s album “Hymnal Remixes”, Window Magic returned by the end of 2013 with his album “Circular” which broadens the pallet of sounds and treads on many new grounds. His latest album “Well Kept Era” went even further and boiled years of recordings down to five lengthy tracks, all performed live without any overdubs or multitracks to join a stream of consciousness of a unusual kind.

  • Toasty is our big coincidental discovery of the year. While being extremly young (1996!), this talented guy straight out of Bielefeld, easily drops tunes into the net sounding as crazy & complex as they are on point. Glitchy Future Bass meets experimental Jazz, then runs through your parent’s 8-Bit gaming console, only to bash into a weird mashup of pitched pop samples and bouncy tripping beats. Like that moment when you are not fully sure what you are actually listening to, but it gets you addicted straight away. Toasty recently released tracks on the fun and experimental american netlabels Deskpop & Hyperpop — the later he co-founded with his friend artists in 2016. Don’t miss him opening the night at Rude Fesival, with a full new Liveset & don't forget to bring yourself a helmet.

  • Sebastian's chosen home is found within the fine arts - by creating sound installations he opens up unusual rooms for his audience. Cassette tape recorders as integral parts of his works (which are equally adored by nostalgics and futurists) are also significant in his musical performances. Tape loops get layered with hacked and self - made electronics, weaving widely different sonic sources into uncommon pads and rhythmic structures.

  • Berlin-based, UK-raised Ausschuss is a 21-year-old producer working with dark, industrial-influenced sounds through abrasive textures and sound design. His often foreboding and overtly tense productions such as ‘Mantle’ and ‘Regolith’ fluctuate between dystopian, mechanical movements as well as more unnerving human elements from breathy utterances to almost melodic chopped up vocals. Having already been enlisted for mixes by the likes of London-based boutique Primitive, Disc Magazine, Astral Plane and Tropical Waste alongside bootleg reworkings of the likes of Acre and Soda Plains.

  • Vera van de Seyp is a Dutch/French designer and creative coder with interest in typography, artificial intelligence and The Internet. After graduating from the Royal Academy of Art The Hague in the summer of 2016 she became lead designer at studio LUST and works autonomously next to that. Based in the Hague, she also regularly collaborates with artists from the fashion and music scene that is flourishing there. Her work is multi-faceted and explores new technologies, media and fields where boundaries are still blurry. Projects vary from experimental websites, to interactive holographic installations, to a perpetually morphing typeface, to critical browser extensions, to national flag makers, to a smart generator that tweets about its own inventions, to a poster shaped book. In her work she imagines a new world, finds the limits and breaks them.

  • Ksti Hu was born in the deep North of Russia. She now lives in the Internet, while working & studying between Frankfurt and Berlin. 2015, she finished her bachelor studies in fashion though being a full time graphic designer. In 2013 she reconstructed K. Malevich’s drafted and not survived costumes of the Opra “Victory Over The Sun” as a collection for the Russian Museum in St. Petersburg. Her following developed fashion collection was fully based on those previous works and has won several prices. Ksti Hu’s work is as versatile as it is upfront while always pushing the envelope of different fields and media. Over the years, she has been putting several performances, exhibitions and lectures into practice — from graphic design, to politics & fashion — collaborating with different people all over the world. The main Idea of Rude Festival is based on her current Project by the same name (Rude).

  • Ruohan Wang is an Illustrator, motion designer and VJ based in Berlin, Germany. She studied Illustration in the class of Professor Henning Wagenbreth, and finished it in 2016 at the Berlin University of the Arts. She makes motion-illustrations and graphics and mixes them with sound. She takes a close interest in new techniques and modern aesthetics but still places great emphasis on her own personal style and character. She likes to draw illogical things. Some beautiful things in real life don’t really connect with her, but these sort of collisions interest her more due to their uncertainty and absurdism. There is a combination of Dystopia, Dada, Surrealism, Anarchy, and Nihilism inside her.

  • Tobias Rauch is a German graphic designer based in Nuremberg and Frankfurt. To translate individual ideas into holistic design, his work is distinguished by an abstract and puristic appearance. After getting his degree in graphic design at Nuremberg Tech, he started focusing his work on the interaction of electronic music, club culture and visual communication at HfG Offenbach. Inspired by technological change, he questiones traditional media and reinterpretes them in his own unique fashion. Thus, his embracing style combines playing with different media and clear aesthetic conclusiveness.
